Genealogy of this family whose earliest antecedent was William Sheppard who settled in Henrico County, Va. in 1713. Appendices include transcripts from Henrico County, Va., Deed Books listing personal property including a slave. There is also an anecdote about Captain Benjamin Sheppard, a state tobacco inspector in Richmond and a free black named Aaron Johnson. With the genealogy are two letters, 1945, discussing a lawsuit concerning the Benjamin Sheppard Cemetery.
